So a while back I was in an accident in my truck where an uninsured driver ran a light. Every one is ok and I finally received a payout for my truck. I ended up keeping the truck since I know the drive train is in great shape and I really loved the truck.

The truck took a huge hit in the front and the front is pushed in like a foot an a half on the passenger side. It would probably need a whole new frame, fenders, hood, core support, bumpers ect to put it back together.

The truck was a 95 2.7 4x4 single cab with a 5 speed manual, so I am now on the hunt for a similar replacement truck. I would ideally like to buy something that I could easily swap the most of my parts onto. My plan is to try to find a similar truck with high millage knowing I have my drive train as back up or one that needs an engine or trans.

I know the 95-97 have the same front end but I noticed it looks like the 97's dont have a distributor any more on the 3rz. That would limit my search to 95/96's If I want to drop my motor directly in. I know I would have to check the vin to find out the gear ratios in the axles. Are there any other weird differences I should know about ? Thanks in advance
