    Perfect, thanks. I'll give you guys a call probably next week. With it in that 2-in preload limit, I'm not sure if it's worth bump it up to the 14-in 600 lb springs, And if that would justify revalving for rebound and in general. Thanks again!

    Thanks. I'll run these for awhile. I snapped some 7 yrs old springs. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't running into coil bind. Thought I had my math right, but never hurts asking the guys who do this for a living.

    FOX makes good shocks but THEY SUCK at making things fit. They just don't care. We constantly have issues like this when installing fox shocks, we OFTEN have to modify mounting brackets and hoses are often too long o twisted incorrectly, we like the shocks themslves but kind of hate on FOX for not being able to make a complete product...

    Hi, Gang…apologies if this has been answered elsewhere. I scrubbed this thread and searched the forum and couldn’t find an answer.

    1. Does anyone have a recommendation on a Seattle-local shop that services Fox suspension? I’m due for my 50k on my 2.5 DSC Coilovers and my rear 2.0s with non-DSC Remotes.

    2. I see some people opt to ship their Fox setup to have it rebuilt, and will swap on their original factory suspension. Does that mean the truck has to remain parked if you have larger wheels/tires (mine are 33s)?

    3. Let’s say I didn’t hold on to the original factory suspension, has anyone purchased a quick affordable temporary solution while they wait for their Fox suspension to be rebuilt?​

    Thanks in advance for any insight you can give.

    You shouldn't have to remove anything beyond the Fox coilovers from your truck if you're just sending them in for service / rebuild. Your UCAs (if you have those) can stay in place.

    Assuming your lift is around 2", the easiest (cheapest) temporary substitute would be your original OEM coilovers together with 2" lift top-hat spacers (they will be 1" thick). If you don't have your OEM coilovers, maybe find someone who recently lifted their truck selling / giving away a pair.
    Be aware your bumpstops could potentially be ineffective with the spacer on there, so probably good to stay on the street in the meantime (or drive it gently if you do go offroad).

    — UPDATE for SEATTLE AREA FOLKS —


    So, I recently discovered a Seattle local shop that performs rebuilds on Fox, King, OMU, Bilstein, etc. His name is Marc and his website is https://4x4shocktech.com/

    He has partnered with many local shops around the Seattle area to support the removal/reinstall portion, with his cost being pass-through so you only need to pay one invoice. Marc arranged to have my work done through a local shop (Ranaway Diesel) with a 2-day turnaround to minimize the time my truck in on the shop’s lift.

    Until now, the only option in this region was to send the shocks to Fox or to California-based rebuild specialists. Marc’s rebuild quotes are in-line with both Fox and other non-local options, but without the need to ship, or the long turnaround times.

    Incredibly excited…I’ll know more when the work is done in early December.

    I'm curious about swapping the piston on my 880-06-418 2.5 dsc foxes. I'm pretty sure mine were assembled with a low flow piston. I got this idea from a YouTube video by wheel every weekend. He recommended the 9 hole high flow piston from fox and using a valve stack calculation copied from kings 2.5s. anyone tried this?
    If the width of the piston is the same, I can't see any issues of fitment from the tenon being too short or too long to just swap them.

    Currently looking at swapping out my (literally 2,000 miles) Brand new Bilstein 5100's. I have the OEM coil, and the Cir-clip set at the 3rd position. 265/70/R16 at 30psi blah blah.

    I'm looking to improve my ride quality, and want to hear from those with the Fox 2.5's. If you bought them from Accutune, even better.

    I know that they require rebuilds at 50-60k miles, and some people have had various issues out of them, and they only offer a 1 year warranty vs Bilstein's lifetime warranty.

    The ride quality though for me, and my preference isn't up to par, which is not a bash against the 5100, because it's great for the price point.

    Describing how a set of shocks feels is probably going to be difficult to convey since everyone's interpretation of terms like 'smooth' / 'harsh' / 'good handling' / 'sloppy handling' will always vary.

    That said, I would describe mine as firm & controlled, but also much less harsh over bumps/potholes than the original TRD Sport shocks I had (they are Accutuned, Adventure). No regrets on the amount I spent. Getting the DSC adjusters will allow you a greater chance to dial the ride to your liking, both for street and offroad (also allows better accommodating those times you have a heavy load in your truck).

    Might be a long shot, but maybe see if you can find someone local to you who has a set of these shocks on their truck and willing to take you for a ride in it. Keep in mind though, tires can also play almost as much of a role as the shocks themselves do, so make sure to note whether the tires are similar to yours (their size & load rating in particular, E-rated tires will almost universally have a harsher ride than C or SL tires).
