I'm trying to repair my leaking transfer case. The output shaft seal failed and I can't seem to get the new seal on. I haven't been able to find a lot of info online about this year of tacoma.

I've tried two different models of seals. Masterpro and Precision. The precision seemed closer to the original seal.

I'm not sure if I bought the wrong parts or on installing it incorrectly.

    If anyone is experienced this problem on a 2015 tacoma, please help.PXL_20250207_223918160.MP.jpg PXL_20250207_223018881.MP.jpg PXL_20250207_223016431.MP.jpg PXL_20250207_223013141.MP.jpg PXL_20250207_222959216.jpg PXL_20250207_222955458.MP.jpg PXL_20250207_222940841.MP.jpg PXL_20250207_222916904.MP.jpg PXL_20250207_222907672.MP.jpg

Added note: I've been trying to put the seal over that small inner ring with the round lump looking parts around it. I'm starting to think that's not what the seal fits over since i can't get it around that ring due to those lumps being in the way.

Why did you take the housing off?
The seal should press into the housing on the output side not onto the shaft against the bearing.
