So for the past week, I've been battling trying to get my a/c to blow cold and I thought it was my actuator because I opened the actuator up and saw some damaged pins, etc... so I bought a new one and plugged it in and it wasn't spinning when I turn it from hot to cold I am currently sitting down with the switch circuitry taken apart and everything looks fine I am at a total loss and yes i checked the fuse I don't know if its the relay if it is the heater relay if anyone has gone through this please help me out!

In for the same issue. Changing the temp will sometimes cause the blend door actuator to spin, other times it does nothing at all. Sometimes turning my AC off and on will turn it back to cold, sometimes recirc will cause it to change.

If your blower works then there's nothing wrong with the heater relay as it powers the blower as well as the A/C fuse which provides power to the A/C amplifier, the ECU-B fuse also provides power to the A/C Amplifier so you may want to check that one as well.
If your mode and recirc doors are working the the A/C Amplifier has power.
You will have to test your switch and servo to see what's going on.

I had this exact same problem on my '03. It was the temperature control unit.

Yeah... Well, the unit behind that. Not cheap, I'm afraid. I'll look at the receipt in the morning and post the details.

Okay, I was reading this late at night, and want to make sure we had the same problem. I would change the temp on the dial, but typically the temp would not change. I thought it was the actuator, and it was cheap to get an aftermarket one, so I replaced it. Problem persisted. Fan speeds worked, and when the actuator turned, it would work. But it usually just wouldn't turn when I adjusted the temp. So I took it to the dealership, and they correctly diagnosed the issue.

FWIW, I rarely take it to the dealership. But I've got an extended warranty with a $250 deductible, I couldn't diagnose the issue on my own, and my regular mechanic couldn't get me in for few weeks, so I made an exception.

Anyway, they determined it was the control assembly- 55910-35240. They raked me over the coals for it- $535 all in. But, with my warranty it was only $250, and they did determine the issue when I wasn't able to. It looks like you can get it OEM online for under $200, and I think it's a pretty straightforward job.

    I hope this helps.

Helps me a bunch, I appreciate it. I was having the same issue and then yesterday my fan speed started acting up, even with the fan set to off it would still be blowing hot air lol.
Guess I’ll be ordering a new controller and returning this blend door actuator.
    Thanks for the input!!

@Thelum was spot on, it was the temp control unit. Took me about 30 minutes to swap out. I ordered mine from Mcgeorge Toyota, was $198 to my door.

This is great to hear, I'm glad it worked out. I'm usually on the receiving-end of advice on forums like this. Don't forget to save the little bulbs from the original one, chances are you'll need some replacements some day.
