Hey Ainapo, I'm wondering how your cap is holding up with the drilled holes? I am thinking of doing a DIY where I mount a Billiebar just below the cap window, going fore to aft. To that I could mount or remove things like a bike mount, molle panel, shovel, etc. It would also serve as a step to get up to the roof to secure a kayak or something. I think the way to go is to drill in some brackets through the cap that the Billiebar would mount to. Not sure what brackets those would be- I want the bar basically touching the cap so it doesn't stick out too far. I have a beater canopy so I'm not worried about warranty or anything.

Anyways I'm wondering how your experience is drilling holes in your cap. I see you have some metal hardware mounted, as well as your roof rack. What hardware is that you have mounted near the back? Have you ever had problems with leaks or cracks? Any thoughts on placing dynamic loads on said holes, as heavy as a bike? (maybe 25 lbs). Top of bike would be secured to the roof, so it wouldn't put too much torque on the bar/mounts. Also whatever brackets I find, I will have the backing plate on the inside resting on the rail inside to take some of the load off of the fiberglass. I have a feeling this project will require an order from my local metalsmith for the brackets. It's just a concept for now.
