In my humble opinion judging from the sounds of your engine you have a bad rod bearing at a bare minimum.
Did you check the oil for metal when you changed the oil?

I'd would just get a low mileage used engine and put that in.

As far as your question above it appears you are hinting at building up a 4 banger with stronger rods, pistons, etc... That would just be a waste of money. The 2TR-FE is a very strong engine and will take a lot of abuse from the factory.

thank u, yes now when I dropped the oil there is some metal, first I thought of getting a used engine but the issue is u really don’t know what’s the internally condition of that engine even its has low mileage I would rather rebuild my own even at least I know what is the condition of this engine and all parts will be new.
