Yes, typically whenever you pick up an odd object in you tire, key, screw driver, battery etc etc it is almost always the back tire, the front tire hits the object and kicks it up and the back tire hits it and a flat she goes... I have seen thousands upon thousands of flats over many many years and weird crap gets caught by the rear tire almost always....

Only time I caught a flat in the front was from another vehicle in front of me kicking something up. Same concept, just multi-vehicle. It was a big heavy piece of sharp steel; I nearly shat myself when I saw it kick up towards my little car at the time. Direct hit to the front tire, and instant blowout. It wasn't just a small puncture, it completely ripped about an 8 inch gash into the sidewall. I nearly wrecked bc I might as well have lost all steering while going 60+mph down the interstate in this little FWD car. Fun times.

About to take this in to Discount Tire and see if it’s “repairable” by their standards. Guessing not since it’s on the outermost lugs, so I’m gonna see if I can keep this one and plug it myself and replace the stock 245 from 2019 on my spare.

I would absolutely plug that guy and give it a go. But then again I’m on old farm boy who has done many inadvisable things to tires.

I personally would probably keep running it, but I have a warranty on these so I might as well get my money’s worth.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I think you're far enough from the edge of the tire to safely plug that.

best case is they warranty it right? Does that mean you get a new tire or they just pay out for whatever life was left?

Get new tire. the tire shop will pro-rate it if you have road hazard warranty. youd pay some but not the full price. pending on the wear they prob try selling you another tire.

    Yeah.
They are listed as a vendor here and seem to be pretty supportive of and responsive to the TW community.

Glad they patched it. I cut a sidewall on a tire with maybe 10k miles on it and replaced just that one with a matching tire. The truck pulled on the highway due to different wear amounts, much more than I expected, so I had to go back and have them swap the spare onto the other side.

Bilstein 6112 front / 5100 rear (extended) shocks, Headstrong AAL, Firestone airbags, 4.88 gears, OME Carrier bearing drop kit, Aluminum 1/4" skids (engine to transfer). Custom sliders (1.75" HREW tube w/ 3/16" base plates). Custom front bumper and high clearance rear bumper (1/4" steel plate, 1.75" tube.) Apex 5500 winch w/synthetic line (36lbs) and required accessories for an underpowered winch (snatch blocks and extra line.) Tekonsha P3 brake controller, remote start, any-time-backup camera w/ front facing camera, Leer 100R shell (w/e-track single slot tie-down mounts for removable Yakima EasyTop.) Cat shields by CaliRaised. Husky liners, window tint, heated seat (passenger only.) Relentless bed rail brackets with QuickFists (shovel/axe/fire extinguisher.) Hondo Garage Un-holey vent mount. Anytime rear with front facing camera. Billet front seat risers. Viair 88p. 265/75r16 Goodyear Ultra-terrain tires.
Worked on a 2nd version of a high clearance rear bumper. The initial version offered less protection and didn't allow proper fitment of a swing-out hinge.

It'll eventually have additional bracing to the frame plates along with a swing out tire carrier and a hidden hitch.

For anyone that cares, the nail in my tire wasn’t in deep at all, didn’t even fully puncture it. They pulled it and told me to bring it back if I have any issues, but I’m not worried about it.

Added the weBoost Drive Reach Overland. Very easy install and works well. It increased my cell reception by 24dBm. Was difficult to justify this purchase of $500 but I continually drop calls by my house and figured it would help in the woods. I got the “overland” version for the bracket that comes with it. Very easy install.

Installed the OEM tailgate power lock today. It wasn’t a complete pain in the ass but pretty close. The YouTube videos leave out about half of what you need. Since I forgot to take pictures here’s the video I followed.
