Hello all. I'm new to the community but not Toyotas or cars in general. I've never had a Tacoma (till now) but I have had several MR2s, a 04 Tundra, and a few older Toyota pickups. A few months ago I picked up a pretty beat-up 96 with a 2.7 extra cab 4x4 5 speed. Sitting at 280K it needed a good bit of work. I got it for cheap because it needed a head gasket.

Since I've had it I've pulled the head, had it checked, and milled .005 to straighten it out. Replaced everything above with new gaskets, and cleaned the throttle body. I'm still chasing a high idle issue but lots of other issues to address first. Just recently, I had to rebuild the power steering pump and replace the steering rack. Not to mention all of the hoses that had worn out. Just doing it bit by bit. Been lurking for awhile so I figured I'd make a post.
