I left the radio on all afternoon and the battery died. I jumped it off a battery pack. Immediately after the jump 3 error messages appeared on the dashboard. 1. headlight system malfunction 2. pre collision system malfunction 3. check vehicle stability control system. The truck started, continues to start and drives without problems. The battery is only 18 months old and tested fine. Headlights seem to work fine. Any suggestions?

Could try disconnecting the battery for like 20 minutes, then hook it up and start it. See if the codes clear

A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.
This has a 95% chance of success

You usually have to reinitialize certain systems when disconnecting/reconnecting the battery. A simple code reader won't do it.

Sometimes when a battery is run flat the systems need to re-set by driving for a while. Might only take a few miles. Can't hurt to disconnect for a bit, as suggested above, and even connecting to a charger while disconnected.

Can you expand on this. Hooking up a new battery after a long pause will lead to non-functioning systems? Seems like a bad design for a truck

I've had my battery in and out, or disconnected on probably a dozen occasions for varying periods of time.
Nothing unusual or unexpected happens during a normal battery disconnect or swap.
All the "systems" boot up as you would expect them to...

Battery jump starts, however, are a different story, especially if the cables just happened to get reversed...

This is news to me. My truck must be special as I've swapped out the battery twice with zero hiccups.

OP, do the battery disconnect thing.

That heavy power draw brings the line voltage below minimums for the computer. If your battery is flat and sitting around 9-10volts, jumping is not the best thing to do if you can avoid it. Unplug the ground terminal and run a charger on it first. unless you have a 40amp charger DO NOT try to charge a flat battery with it still connected, the alarm will sound and when you try to disable the alarm by exposing your fob, it will go into ignition mode, the high pressure pump, lights, accessory loads will try to pull power from your charger and potentially destroy it.

I work at Lexus. On some models we have to initialize the steering sensor when we have the battery disconnected or multiple warning messages will appear.

    What messages are you seeing?

I took a quick peek on TIS, looks like no initialization is needed on that vehicle.

Sometimes weird things happen to vehicle electronics when a battery is drained because radio, lights or other things left on vs battery going bad on its own.

I wonder if that battery pack caused some fuses to blow? Those things always did make me nervous with the power they store and release when used. Hopefully it didn't do some sort of ECU damage?

Try driving for a few miles. Also it might "test fine" and may be only 18 mo old but it could still be no good.

First thing I would do would be to fully charge the battery with a battery charger.

Sounds like over-voltage from the power jump pack- what type was it?

Replace your clock spring. Buy oem is my recommendation- search the online dealers for best price, search for any coupon codes. Install isn’t bad, was my 1st time ever removing a steering wheel- there’s a few videos that will get you where you need to be but might have to look at 2nd gen. Mark your wheel and the spline for reinstall… I’ll have to take mine off again because I’m 1 tooth off

And that’s why I don’t have the noco in my truck anymore.

What others somewhat said. What do you mean battery tested fine? Did you disconnect battery, and put it on charge, before testing it?
