IMG_4977.jpg I was putting an output shaft seal in front of the transfer case. I noticed a plug up on the transmission was unpluged and found the plug hanging on passenger side. While feeding the plug over the transmission looking up on passenger side of transmission. I saw two plugs that look like vacum hoses go on. Here is a photo and they appear to be below the two shift boots.

the top one is actually coming out just below the J shifter boot. If you look just below where the black tubing starts on the electric wire you can barely see the vent plug. The lower one may actually be coming from transmission. These may be vent lines for Transfer and MT.

Breather tube. Connect a tube between the two and you'll be fine.

Not the best picture but here you go.

Thanks for the reply. I thought they may be vent tubes. I read where the transfer case base did vent back into a dry space between transmission and transfer case. Good to know this is where that happens.
