Any woodworkers?

I have been using the Hercules Woodworking blades from HF. I got them pretty cheap with a coupon and they are doing the trick. My projects seem to be coming out pretty good using it. My saw needs a full kerf blade to clear the riving knife. Be sure to get the correct blade for whatever saw you end up with.

 

I’ve already upgraded the one on the miter saw to Diablo years back! I also like their ROS pads.

 

For the money you can't beat it for occasional use. It stores nice, rolls nice, folds up and down smooth, and did I mention the price? Not for fine woodworking, but damn, for $300 I love mine.

 

It's been really hard to get any shop time lately because work is picking up and my hours are getting long. When your tired after a long day that's not when you want to be in your shop using machines that want to remove your fingers. But I got some time today so here's what I did.

I profile routed all the edges. I gave some an ogee profile to fancy them up as the burnt edge isn't everyone's cup of tea. I want to give people a choice and variety.

My Betty has claimed the flame box elder one.

I have one walnut cross from a piece of wood that was about worthless for anything else. You know one of those scraps you just can't throw out, lol.

One stack with the ogee profile and one stack rounded over for the burnt edge treatment.

The catalpa machines really nice with almost no burning. I did have one complete failure of a maple piece, lots of chipout and just looked bad. It'll be firewood.

Finally got back to the noodle board. Kerosene heater in the garage decided to smoke me out one day. New wick and igniter later...

Final layout and depth dimensions. Still long in width, but that's planned. Hopefully tomorrow afternoon I can get the garage warmed up (or move to the basement) and start gluing.

I hope thats the case. I got base post set, 1 coat of stain. And my makers stamp on it.

 

Is that Cedar you're using for the roof?

I went cheap route and used pine. I noticed about half way throughcutting pieces my tape measure was a bit off and the miter saw angle knob was loose so theres some slight mistakes

 

Do not admit to your mistakes and chances are no one will notice. Do not ask me how I know.

 

You're in a forum of woodworkers...so obviously, everyone who reads this is saying, "Mistakes? What are those?"
As they say, "Great woodworkers are not the ones who never make mistakes, they're the ones who are great at recovering from them"

 

It's not a mistake, it's a design change, lol.

 

Measure once, cut three times, then get another piece of wood.
