I need a recommendation for a 2018 tacoma. I've never installed one so please include anything extra like a wiring adaptor if it's needed. There are a lot of old threads with broken links.

Are either of these the plug for the 3rd gen?

Redarc. It is plug and play, and there is a member who makes a slick mount bracket for it.

Have both the Tekonsha P3 and Redarc. Cannot go wrong with either. Do you have the tow package for the truck?

It's a 2018 trd pro. I'm still not 100% sure which plug it goes to but I think it's the larger on in the picture above and a wiring harness that supposedly fits the 3rd gen (tph-015)

Redarc, installs clean with just a knob showing and works very smoothly.

The white 12-pin plug on the right of your photo should be for the trailer brake. Theyre usually tucked behind other wires in the driver side footwell. This is male side of the plug. upload_2025-2-11_20-24-6.jpg
