I have had my 22 SR5 for almost a year.
Just like thousands, I have found a lot of helpful info on this forum and after talking to an Airman yesterday, who sold me a K&N air filter, he suggested I join and contribute.

    So, here we are.

I am not an Overlander or Baja racer, My Taco is my every day drive so my mods are mostly helpful and aesthetic. I do a little over 2k miles a month.

I have had trouble finding certain info for my mods and thought it would be nice to share my findings for those who may be looking.

Just to be clear, I am a Jack of all trades and a Master on none. I simply use a lot of critical thinking to complete any mods. So my methods may be for some and seem nonsensical to others. I am a visual learner due to my self diagnosed Auditory Processing Disorder(LOL) so I will use a lot of pics in my posts for my peeps.

Lastly, for me, Amazon is my friend. The pricing for most quality products are as good as or better than most websites... do your research when being thrifty. 20250212_071803.jpg

Nice Barcelona! I love the SR5… I’ll trade you my MTM for your sunglasses holder!
Honest question…what is your need for a light bar if you don’t overland? Or do you consider that an aesthetic addition?

    Welcome!

Nice looking truck...I do like that Grill.

Your methods are similar to mine...albeit, slightly. lol

Have you got the OEM Tailgate Lock?

    Are your catalytic converters protected?

How do you go about changing your oil? (Messy or clean with Fumoto?)

    Do you have Aluminum Housing?

Your tires look wider than 265s...what's your setup?

Oh, and where is the Airman assigned to in Florida?

i did get the OEM tailgate lock, took about 20 minutes to install... game changer
i do not have a Fumoto yet... still making a mess although i did switch to the aluminum filter housing.
I just got those tires. Falken AT4 s.. 265/75 16 on factory wheels. went with the 75 to fill in the wells after doing a level... 265/70 would still leave a lot of space. that being said, i miss the pizza cutter fuel milage.
i believe the Airman was stationed at Patrick AFB. we met up in Rockledge so i could purchase his K&N filter from Marketplace. We did discuss the OTT, with his larger tires he was going to re-gear. Said it would be in the $3k range. My thought is that would be 5 years before seeing a return on investment as it relates to mpg. I may just cheap out and get a throttle controler

    LOL.
the light bar is angled downward to cut through the heavy fog we get in the mornings.

I'm going on 4 years of ownership come this May 14th.

Upgrades/improvements were fast/furious at the beginning but I'm settling down...I think!

The OTT was definitely an improvement in the torque arena. (ECT)

Next up is the TRD Suspension Kit (Part of the TRD Lift) on April 1st.

Price increased when the shocks went from a package deal to individual pricing...meh, I'm upgrading as an AF anniversary present to me.
