I have this reoccurring problem in the back seat of my DCLB. I typically clean the back seat on Sundays but every week by Friday there are Cheerios, Kicks and other food related items all over the back seat. I clean it again and it happens again. I do have four year old boys so i'm thinking that has something to do with the issue. Took it in to be looked at and dealer said they're all like that. Might try a different dealer.

2023 Sport purchased new that now has 60K miles:
    * Rear brake light switch failed @ 6 months
    * Weak battery replaced @ 15 months

Light switch replaced under warranty and the battery was replaced by the dealer at no cost even though the 36K warranty had been surpassed.

3rd brake light recall done even though there were no leaks, and the batteries inside the TPMS sensors just went dead but my truck is 8 years old.

    Original with factory replacement parts.
I've been hit 4 times, while setting still. 2 times was in someone elses driveway.
It has had 1 new front bumper and 2 new rear bumpers.
The truck is a ding-bat magnet.
    Every hitter was a female.

Thank goodness I always kept the ball and hitch in the receiver. It took the brunt of the rear-enders.
I got so mad about being rear ended, I made up a 14" bayonet for the receiver. Put a bright green tennis ball on the end to keep the patella in place.

oem battery leaked at the caps and was replaced under warranty with a Toyota truestart
havc blower wheel stripped out and was replaced with updated TSB part/under warranty
    3rd brake light TSB

After 9 years, the front lca ball joint boots are split and leaking grease (Toyota currently has a 15% off sale for the next 6 days and new lca's are $257 each 48069-04060, 48068-04060)

Also just replaced the rear drums and shoes as the old ones were squealing like a pig.

    2017, 65k miles, 9 years and counting...

Biggest issue in mine is that it's missing the rear defroster.

2019 Off Road DCSB , bought new . Had rear brake light recall, fuel pump recall , and ecu update . Other than that and oil changes and tire rotation it’s been very good to me. Is it quirky sometimes yes , but I would buy another tomorrow

2018, bought it new. No problems at all, just regular maintenance on schedule. Replaced battery and tires as soon as I would on any other vehicle. This has probably been the most reliable and problem free vehicle I’ve ever owned so far.

Pretty much every car except Toyota. If I see a vehicle on the road that the clearcoat is gone, it is almost always a Toyota. It is probably different in Canadia where you get like 2 hours of sun, but anyone living near the Gulf of America knows this pain.

This is what it looks like - Roof paint clear coat faded, how bad is the damage? | Tacoma World

I see cars of all makes with sun damage about equally. Typically older vehicles that don’t appear to be well maintained in general. At my house our daily driver cars (all Toyotas) park outside and none have clearcoat issues. I just wax them 2x a year - once in the late spring, once late fall, and have never had clearcoat problems.

Many USA vehicles have had a lot more paint issues since the feds mandated water based paints years ago. Some colors worse than others.

I agree that it’s all kinds of vehicles that show clear coat fading. Back home in southeast NM the sun is brutal on everything and would ruin a Rolls Royce paint job. My 23 y/o Yukon has been garage kept and I wax it after the Spring pollen and in late Fall and it still looks great. I had my Taco treated with Modesta ceramic and that will help keep looking good. But I do agree that there are a lot of complaints about Toyota paint quality and I feel for those dealing with fading or peeling clear coat and peeling paint. I hope I don’t experience that myself.

I've had 3. Leased a 17 SR5. Had it for 2.5 yrs and 20K miles. Truck ran like crap on 87 and pinged. Really bad transmission shuddering at 40. No issues were addressed by dealer. Next was 21 OR manual. had for a year and 5k miles. No issues. Currently have a 23' OR AT. only 3K miles. no issues other than alignment being slightly off from factory. The 6th gear shudder is still around, but I've learned that constantly forcing it to downshift and beating on it a little makes the ECU learn not to hold 6th, and downshifts more easily (and shudders a lot less).

Agreed, and if it were a 25 year old Geo Storm, i wouldn't take a second look, but that shouldn't be happening with a 5 year old truck that is parked in a garage most of the time. I know it is hard to not fan boy on a Toyota, but Toyota sucks when it comes to lasting finishes.

Where the Gulf of Mexico used to be. Pretty much the same size, location, depth, etc. Looks just like it, hard to miss!
