I'll pick up those sliders, and may be interested in the roof rack if a deal is possible :)

I had to un-list the rack and sliders from the original post, as the dealership had included them in their calculations for my trade. Found that out this morning when I was going over numbers. Unfortunately, they are going with the truck. One less thing for me to worry about taking off, but what sucks is I had already told @LtDan12a that he could have both.

My girlfriend's mom, basically my mother-in-law at this point, was just in the market. She wanted the 4runner but was also considering the bronco. We test drove the bronco (outerbanks sasquatch and regular, badlands), tacoma (limited), and sat in the landcruiser (base).

The tacoma and landcruiser for sure have a better build quality. The landcruiser was a base model and she wasn't about the cloth seats and small screen for like $15k or so more than the bronco.

The tacoma was super nice, I thought it drove way nicer than the bronco but man was headroom terrible and the it just felt insanely cramped. I feel like they went a step forward in interior space with the 3rd gen then back a step or two with the third gen. It was a weird feeling because seating position was nice but I just couldn't get over how everything was in my face.

The bronco road fine but head way more headroom and felt like the seating position was more upright. It is also just a good looking truck even though its a few years old at this point. She ended up going with the bronco.

I have a feeling if they had a better equipped landcruiser she may have gone that route.

All that to say, sick truck! it isn't an easy choice choosing a new vehicle right now, so many good options out right now.

Thanks! It is hands down the nicest vehicle I have ever had. I shopped the LC, new Taco, and the Tundra. I was looking to move up to something more comfortable to daily and get at least a little better mileage. I had basically crossed off the LC due to cost, but quickly realized it was the vehicle that I really wanted. I've been dreaming of another Cruiser ever since I sold my '91 FJ80 before I left Okinawa.

Couldn't have said it better about the 4th Gen Taco. Drove great (I drove the hybrid), but I just couldn't get over how comically large the screen was in that tiny cab. Cost savings by Toyota for sure since it is the same screen that's in the Tundra, but it could have easily been a few inches smaller and still been totally fine. I'm also in the camp that the interior took a few steps backward. I don't care what the spec sheet says, but it really feels like there is less room especially in the back. It is also a little too gimmicky for my tastes, almost like they are trying too hard. Just not my cup of tea, and I much preferred the 3rd Gen Taco interior. At the end of the day, if I was going to stay in a pickup truck I would have sprung for the Tundra.

My neighbor has 2 bronco's. A 2021 for their daughter, on 35s and spacer lift, and they bought the wife a 2024. Also did the same mods - 35s, spacer lift, and BD fog light kit.

I just need to get them off of the pavement/mall

Yeah I could see the LC being a good everyday/commuter vehicle. Her parents are both retired so it wasn’t a big deal to her, it was more the cool factor haha. If it was me I probably would have waited for a 4Runner but she just really liked the bronco.

I agree on the tundra. Maybe it was the sunroof that made it worse too but I was just annoyed by how small the interior felt. Quality was way better in the Tacoma but I think it would keep me from getting one.

Also, just for reference, we went to Malloy ford in Winchester, as far as dealers go it was fairly pleasant.

I have convinced them to go off-roading somewhere. My GF says to take them to a harder trail like flagpole but I’m worried they will freak out on union springs. Maybe we will do Peter’s mill once it’s open for the year or the Switzer side of flagpole.

Ill let you know when we go. I think Flagpole is a good place to start. But you should bring your truck too, so Toyota's aren't outnumbered

    Speak up when Flagpole happens.

And on Malloy Ford, sales is great. Service has sucked big ones for as long as we've been here. My neighbor was a service manager and left after a few months.

And I thought about a Bronco for a minute, but not much cargo room. If you're doing more that days trips, you need a roof rack or a trailer.

might take you up on the cai. Might have to mod it a little anyway to use with the supercharger. Let me know if you still ahve it. Thanks!

Also, I don't recall flagpole being anything other than a green trail in comparison to chaos or rousch?!? I'll have to look for video....I was going up a really steep hill in my FJ at chaos and my front end lifted up a couple feet and I was already at a high angle on the side of the hill! The spotter and I freaked for a second, but I had to keep balancing the throttle because it was a hairy spot where you can't stop your momentum (to get to the top).
