I'm in the market for a new laptop. I'm not a tuner but have a self installed KDMax tune on my Taco. My laptop is ancient and I'd like to replace it with a new one. Can someone recommend one that won't break the bank? I don't do any gaming, just need a basic laptop for surfing the web at home, when I travel and will also connect to my truck.

    Thanks.

I do too. The super cheap one I have doesn't have enough storage to update itself or have anything on it. It can run VF tune though. Doesn't take much. Just gets frustrating trying to do anything else though.

Ah, thanks for the advice and link. The mandatory upgrade to Win11 does bother me too. I have a Dell Precision 5510 that has been a great machine since 2017. So something like that seems to fit your recommendation for a budget machine.

    A Surface would work great.

I forget the model but Staples had a nice Lenovo we got my wife last fall for a tad under $500, does everything she needs for school and work. Storage space became an issue for her as she has to do reports on her machine for work constantly and her 2 yr old machine had limited memory nor the ability to upgrade save getting an external drive.

Depending on make/model you could google to see if swapping in a new memory card and/or disk drive or SSD is an option. I upgraded a 256MB macbook to 1TB for 100 bucks which would have cost 500 more.
