Trailer towing experience

I just couldn't go backwards... wife and I want all that tech! Heated and Cooled seats, safety sensors, that automatic distance keeping cruise control... And as much payload as we can get without going medium duty.

 

My little experience. Last few years I was using Tacoma with camper to tow utility trailer(3500lbs tops) through Sierras(~6k'). The truck and camper total weight was 5540 lbs empty. With all stuff and load on the trailer it was really heavy train. The RPMs jumped to 4-5k in the mountains. The passing on the uphill was a little bit of struggle but manageable. I have CVC tune and was on a stockish 31 inch tires and stock diff. The milage was about 11. Flat roads were easy, like nothing behind.
