Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail AT 112T All-Terrain Tire

Have these on a 2nd gen 275 65 18 9 inch 0 offset.
My last sets were the at3 and at4s so I’ll compare against those.
I like these the mos by far. They’re noticeably lighter. I feel like my 4.0 is back from a slumber and the suspension is more responsive. Less rolling mass I guess.
The tread is much more “luggy” in person and the sidebiters look great. The overall carcass of the tire makes it look blimpy or donut shaped. No tire whine at all and balancing was fine. I only crawl on pavement but needed something snow rated. No complaints on these.

 

Being in BC what price did you get and where if you don't mind me asking. Thanks.

Thanks. CND Tire has these in house brand made by Cooper. MotoMaster Eliminator X-Trail A/T All Terrain. When on sale they’re a little bit less. Don’t know if there is much difference between the 2. I’d opt for the Coopers if they compared better is some ways. Although the MotoMaster Eliminator X-Trail A/T All Terrain have lots of favourable reviews.

 

Just put four of these on (265/75r16) at the end of last month after putting ~40k on the stock goodyears. I researched this ad nauseam and was between these, toyo at3, Falken Rubitrek, and Maxxis Razr AT... I ended up going for these based on the weight, look, and tirerack reviews—not to mention very competitively priced. I didn't have any complaints with the goodyears, however, these are better in everyway... better on road manners and handling in the corners, no issues with wet traction, and were locked down on a recent trip to the snow. Overall a stellar tire that looks good, rides smooth and quiet, and hasn't had a noticeable impact on MPG.

 

So finally got some snow, first snow was 5" - started out in 4WD but after about one mile put it back in 2WD. They work very good my opinion is they are better than the AT3 even when new. I do have 150 lbs of sandbags in the bed for weight, went up several hills that are mildly steep (paved roads) with no problems. Second snow was 2" same results - no need for 4WD on the roads I travel, fyi I'm in Eastern Iowa.

Really impressed more with the dry / rain performance of these plus they are quiet.

 

Took a drive up through the mountains of Western Maine today. These tires were fantastic on the snowy/slushy roads. Many were worse than the 2 pics below. I continue to be impressed with these.

 

Just had the tires installed and my initial impressions are positive, but I've only done a short drive locally and a little bit of rain this morning. I will get more miles this weekend.

A lot of people always say that their "AT Tires are quiet" but I have apparently sensitive hearing and in the past have disagreed with the quiet comments. I went from Michelin Defender LTX MS2 to the Cooper Road + Trail, and even with critical listening (no radio, no heat, fan, etc.) I am struggling to hear any tire noise difference.

Also - the tire sidewalls look surprisingly aggressive in person, which is going to elevate my Costco parking lot trips!

Are those in 16" wheels? TRD Pro wheels? Factory Sport wheels are 17". Apparently more selection with a 17" wheel.

 

If you look closely at the first photo, you can read 265/70R17 at the 10 o'clock position

They are 265/70/17 tires, and the wheels are AGP 17" replicas of the TRD Sequoia/Tundra wheels. +5 offset, and no rubbing on the stock mud flaps!

 

Just had these installed on my Sport. 265/70/17. First new full set of tires I've bought in years!
Local street spin, turned the wheels full lock to lock a couple of times. No rub at all. Stock suspension with stock mudflaps.

 

Pulled the trigger. Going back and forth between these and Toyo at3. Discount tire priced matched tires and install to sams club. At $176 each couldn’t pass up. Had falken at3 for 56k and these ride night and day better.

 

May just put these on next. My Cooper AT3s with 30k miles are getting really really loud.

 

Hesitating swapping out Duratracs for these Coopers only because OE tires have so much tread left. Duratracs are now 5+ years old. My question is if I do pull the trigger is there a market for 5 year old tires with less than 20K miles (spare is new) or should I just let DT scrap them. And is DT no longer a member here?
