I put ethanol free gas in all my equipment. My snowblower sits all Spring, Summer, and Fall with the same fuel in it from the previous season. It still has the same tank of gas as last year :anonymous:

I never cared what I put into my snowblower or lawnmower until someone mentioned using ethanol free gas in this thread. I started using it a few years ago and it seems that everything runs better with it. Worst case, it's all in my head but it only sets me back a handful of dollars per year. Sta-bil goes into the gas can on every refill.

I do still need to hit the primer bulb on my snowblower 7 times instead of the 2-3 that the label says but it's been like that since the day I bought it. Always starts on the first pull.

The lawnmower doesn't have a primer. Toss the throttle to rabbit and it starts on the first pull.

I try to run the gas out of the engines at the end of the season but I usually fail miserably at that.

Had a little snow here last night. Took the kiddos out today to drive around the WMA and check out stuff. Spooked a few deer, got muddy, made it to the end at the river and pulled the memory card from one of the trail cams I have out.

There area where I have this trail cam is really good. I've had the cam up for a few years now, but 2023 and most of 2024 I did not get out there to put salt blocks out.
I'm going to make sure and get out there every month this year and keep bringing salt blocks. I also found a good spot to put up a double seat ladder stand.

The jump start pack I bought from Costco a few years ago saved me when my battery was dying, the new one wouldn't be delivered for a few days and everyone left work without waiting to see if I needed a jump, which I did. Twice.

I'd be tempted to put one in every vehicle but 1) I'm the only one that would use it anyway and 2) that would be four to try and keep charged up instead of just one.

I have a Chinamonium jump starter and for whatever reason it only loses a bar (of battery) per year.

That’s the draw back of these gadgets, they lose charge just by sitting in the storage.

I keep one in each of my vehicles and take them out to top off the charge every couple of months. They are easier than jumper cables, and you can self recover, something you can't do with jumper cables. But that one is a little small, I would get a bigger one.

This is one of the better rated one on Amazon.

That's why I just set a reminder in my phone telling me to bring them in every other month to top off the charge.

Did you find anything or just give it a good cleaning?

Enjoy the chili - make it worth the plunger if needed.

I’m like you, but I use fuel stabilizer and rotate through my fuel storage. I have 4 metal Jerry cans of fuel, and whatever is in the device tanks. All have a petcock and a fuel filter. I always cut the fuel and let it run out. To fire it up, I just turn it on and fire it up. Occasionally I’ll get a stuck float (a tap on the carb bowl), but nothing more. I keep a can of starter fluid around in case, but haven’t needed it on my equipment.

I figure if you are only using them for emergency vehicle starting, then you probably don't really need one.

They have so many uses. Starting the mower, charging the lap top, charging the phone, powering the heated jacket, charging the cordless drill, etcetera.

Mine don't sit long enough without use that I forget about it.

    I just don't see 10% discharge/year a deal breaker.

The only thing I do not like about these power packs is that they will not work if less than 10v DC is detected.

A bit of McGuvering solves that issue, then you can use them in place of a battery.

Noco has a button to allow it to start a completely dead battery.

Quality of components matter. Stanley is more of a 'pay for the name' brand to me.

I keep one of these in each of my vehicles, and the truck also ended up with a smaller variant of the NOCO jump pack--i won it at a charity auction...
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0B55RFM1Z?ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

No complaints about any of them. The Amazon ones were bought specifically because they were advertised to hold a charge for a long time.

I've only had to use them a few times, and mostly for other people's cars. I really don't charge them until after I use it. Even 30% charge has been enough to kick most motors over.

I highly recommend anyone and everyone have one. Far easier than cables, and blinky indicator lights and safety systems make it impossible to connect wrong and damage something.

Haven't needed it but I top off the charge every 6 months and is usually down only 2~3%
