How do I get more weight capacity out of my Deaver J66s?

I recently purchased a set of very lightly used Deaver J66s for my 2013 Tacoma. Naturally after I bought them I read that they are only rated for 200 lbs constant weight. I am looking at buying a RTT and making a custom aluminum rear bumper for my truck which with the rest of my gear for off-road I’m guessing will be around 650-750 lbs. Am I able to take a leaf out of my stock pack(was replaced about 2 years ago so it’s not worn out) and add it to the J66 with an extended center bolt or is there a better option to get the 500 lbs extra weight taken care of. Hoping to not have to buy another pack. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

Honestly I would just replace those. The J66's are not designed for extra weight. Even with an AAL they will likely struggle, plus they are already a tall pack so adding more height may not have the best results. And they don't even have overload leafs which are kinda needed with extra weight. This is really what the U402's are for. You're looking at stage 2 or even 3 for that weight. I'd look at Archive leafs as well for that setup.

How did the J66's ride with an empty box? I was looking at those for my 2013 but went with U402 stage 1 instead, on Deavers recommendation. I love them but always was curious how soft the J66's actually were on a second gen. I find even the stage 1's still need a bit of weight in the box or they are a bit stiff.

Thank you! I’ll look into new leaf packs I guess. Didn’t know if there was a better option or not. The J66s are amazing with around 100 lbs in the DCSB setup I have. Running 5160s with them and it rides like a dream, which is why I really don’t want to get rid of them haha

For what it's worth I have the Deaver U402 stage 2 with a camper shell, custom drawers/platform, and much more junk carried. Probably 400lbs or more daily. After they break in with that weight it will still ride great, but if all you carry is 100lbs normally go stage 1.

Total Chaos mid-travel front. JD Fab SUA rear.
Different setup in the rear (camper) is going to require a different leaf setup. It’s just the name of the game. I have the JD fab SUA HD pack with my gfc and it works pretty well, but that might be a snowball effect for you.

I have Deaver Stage 3 with 650-700 daily weight, and I think its perfect for that. Or might be at the end of stage 2. Camper, HC bumper with swingout, full steel skids/sliders.
