    I went to Whiteface for a bit Saturday morning. Conditions were pretty good. This was the second weekend that they've been open, so they've been making snow for a while, and they got eight inches up high in the storm Thursday night. It did get crowded (which wasn't a surprise) since there were only a couple of trails open, and of course there aren't many ski areas open in the northeast yet.

    It's real winter above 3000 feet, but still fall below 2500 feet.

    Whiteface doesn't normally open unless you can ski to the bottom, so downloading on a chairlift was new to me. Hopefully this set-up will allow them to operate a little longer in the spring as well.
