Looks like I need to replace my transfer case extension seal. Has anyone had to replace this, if so how much are shops charging for it?

Picture would help. My familiarity with my own vehicle reveals no extension to the transfer case. There is an actuator (black in color), but that is it.

Never seen the one OP has pictured.

if it's like the one shown here.
    It's not bad at all.....

    Unbolt the driveshaft.
    Remove big nut.
    Remove the flange.
    Pull the seal.
    Replace the seal.

    Then reverse order.

Ok, I see what OP is talking about.
The case has to come off to get to that one.

    Not going to fun.
    But doable in a driveway.

The TC is heavy. Have a buddy or trans jack handy.

Thank you for the info. Might be a little to much for me to try. May have to see what a shop will charge for it to be replaced.

What I was expecting was a picture of the leak, but the diagram helps a bit too. How do you know it is leaking? Are you seeing any AT fluid in addition to gear oil? Or do you perhaps have a manual trans?
