    Just wanted to know has anyone added a tie down on that point? Reason im asking is because i deer hunt and would probably use ratchet straps to bring the deer on the bed without me lifting to much. So just wanted to know if it would be ok to put one in that spot.

    @TacomaDan1993

    My bed stiffeners add a tie down point, along with adding structural rigidity to your truck's bed all without taking up bed space like traditional setups

    Otherwise what @Gunshot-6A posted is another very common option as it does both as well

    I wouldn't trust a deer hanging off that bolt. That being said, there's tons of options to utilize that area to add a tie down point; but you could honestly just use the tailgate latch hook for free :thumbsup:

    Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
    For that purpose you could use the tie-down points in the front corners of the bed.

    No money, all went to truck...
    I did. But knowing not to use it for a heavy load. It is super convenient when tying down a light load.

    How many lbs can the bed tie downs hold or what would the working load be before it cracks?

    i don't believe there's an official load rating on this anywhere.

    but there's also differences in static and dynamic loading as well. and absolutely no one measures dynamic loading.

    Ratchet straps would be a pain in the ass to use to drag anything into the bed, you can only ratchet up so much strap before you have too much rolled up and it jams. A chain hoist, come along, or small winch at the front of the bed would work way better imo

    This is what I used and it was still a pain in the ass getting the deer in the bed,I need to fab up some sort of ramp or something that will help with getting over the edge of the tailgate.

    Small block and tackle

    Jet sleds work wonders. I have 2 of the smaller ones; all of my hunting clothing/gear/bags (aside from climber/seats/blinds) lives in them, and I use them as drawers underneath my bed platform to hold all my hunting stuff during season, so its always ready to go. If I tag a deer, the sled turns back into a dragging sled, and when I get to the truck, it doubles as a ramp. You can sit one end of the sled (the pointed end) up on the tailgate, and then just squat/lift the rear of the sled and push it in. Bonus points, you really don't get much blood in your truck bc its all contained in the sled. Then rinse and repeat :thumbsup:

    No one ever said I didn't have a bad back lol. Some of us learn the hard way, you lift/squat with your legs, not your back. Exactly why I'm advocating for a sled. Using a sled is much easier than trying to manage a deer by its legs. Takes most of the lifting out of the equation and turns it more into push/pulling, whether you're sliding it in the truck by yourself or winching it in.
