Yes sir, I'm thinking $50. I don't have my base plate yet for the new stand though.
As soon as I get it set up you're welcome to come get it next Oak Mtn trip.
If I'm not home I can just sit it out for you.

I only wash my bikes a couple of times a year after an accumulation of mud. Escaped the wet East Coast for a few days only to find it's wet out West too.

Yeah, we stopped using the hose a few years ago after replacing bearings too often. Cyclocross still makes the power washer necessary but those bikes get rebuilt every season anyway. Now we let every dry and soft brush it off, spray bottle if needed for the stubborn stuff.

I agree. My bikes squeak more when washed too much. I use a chain wax so my drivetrain remains pretty clean regardless of how wet the ride is. I do wash it before I have to do major work on it though.

OK, can't post pics anymore cause I'm a dumb ass, so I just posted pics of the Revel Rover gravel build on mtbr. Same screen name and its under cyclocross/gravel/road forum, NBD thread. Just in case ya want to take a peek while I work on my lack of computer skills...

I ended up biting on a set of Forge and Bond CR 35 Shift wheels. The price and warranty seemed hard to beat. Hopefully they’re stable as a company but the wheels and hubs seem to have good reviews regardless. They’ll be going on my gravel bike and are about half a pound lighter than the current I9 GXCR wheels. I’ll drop a little more by using a lighter tire also. I’m taking on some longer distances this year and more significant climbing so I’m helping myself as much as I can!

Because @ginseng27 is a terrible influence, and has me with my AMEX in hand, lets get a discussion going!

Looking at upgrading my V1 Sentinel (160/140mm) to something more now that I have ready access to Whistler and some chunkier stuff here in WA. I ride my Spur for basically everything anyways, so going longer travel doesn't bother me.

Transition has a good deal on V2 frames (160/150mm), with a factory X2 for all the kashima goodness, and takes all the parts I already have on my V1 for easy changeover. Downside is it only gives me 10mm extra so not a ton of gain for the money.

Where Jin is no help is pushing me to look at a Spire, which he's probably right for intended use. 170/170 is def more "park bike" for what I am looking for. The question being: alloy for DH days, or carbon for enduro days, and accept the risk?

    Discuss.

My feeling is this is the correct answer, I just don't like it. Mainly because it's...Alloy. :crapstorm:

Yeah, I've taken my licks as well. Haven't had a carbon related issue yet, but I get the risk.

The upside of alloy would be it also allows a 180 or 200DC fork on the allow model if I ever want to go that route. And the extra $550 buys me like 8 day passes to Whistler.

What’s the weight difference? lBS guy went smuggler alloy and regretted it from carbon. Immediately listed it for sale (hasn’t sold still) and is now on a spur… granted apples to oranges since it was his main mid travel bike but concept applies if you’re ever going to pedal it which I would unless you like the spur for gnarly enduro days too. To me 550 isn’t a whole lot of difference and the carbon will hold its value better. . I haven’t been on alloy in a good bit but in theory a hit hard enough to crack carbon will dent alloy…

take the grain of salt that I solely pedal my bikes and don’t ride park unless I’m pedaling up it first though. .

I know I'm going to regret selling it, but I've run into some medical stuff lately and need to get even. Don't worry, I already also have a replacement. I just really wanted to keep this frame to maybe change it up to the 152, 140, or even 130 just to see what it's like.

I advocated for carbon for enduro days, and buy a separate alloy for dh days. but...monies. lol.
