Hey all! It's been a minute since I've been on to check on the threads. This one being my favorite of course. This going back to the office thing is "so-so" for now. I had already been going back in just to show my ugly mug a few days a week anyway. But I know for certain now that working outdoors on the property is just way more gratifying. It doesn't pay the bills, so it's a balance!

I've had three friends tell me this year how their standby genny did not turn on even after 2 of them were just serviced. The 3rd one just needed to be reset and it kicked on immediately.

Tractor notes: I didn't have time due to my work to do any maintenance on my kubota bx23s. So, I just sent it in to a local place (Dickinson Equipment in Fredericksburg VA). Needed my hydro exchanged (part of the Kubota mx plan), new couplings on my backhoe since it would leak like the monthly visitor to women, and of course they did all the filters, oil, greasing, air filter, fuel filter, and sharpen the mower blades. All came to $915 with free pick up and delivery.

I personally feel that it's a good investment for myself because I value my time more than many things (I'm sure many of you are like that too).

Sorta Tractor/Garden and Yard Equipment related......got this to add to my yard protection setup (you know...coyotes, annoying neighbors, loud cars passing by). didn't like the night vision scope, so it's going away.

sure. once I put it on. I just had it delivered yesterday and I haven't opened it yet. Need to sight it in anyway and it supposedly has built in video for recording. I have feral cats that I take care of so I can use them to see how animals show for heat signature. I mainly got this because I saw a coyote show up on the video monitor one day a while ago.....gonna have to take them out before they attack any of my animals.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
I need to see if my local place does free pickup delivery for maintenance on my tractor. Health issues came up in the fall and I'm just not going to be crawling around myself doing all the filters, oils, and other stuff it needs any time soon.

Installed the new battery charger for the standby generator.

13+ volts should charge that much better than 3 volts.

Did this quick video tonight with a fox in the front yard.

    https://youtu.be/370tTsOxMT4?si=x9Ri_-kwmCLJ3EoO

I added some music since the scope doesn't do audio. It clearly works. I had this and my FLIR thermal out for comparison and there is a huge difference, but that's mostly due to overall size, quality, and field of view. When looking at the same image with my FLIR, I get about 150 ft width (field of view). The Holosun on the other hand since it's so small only gets about 30 ft. That being said, there is also a huge difference in price. The holosun will do just fine.

    Ooookay...

I know this is a stretch, but anyone researching these battery powered, remote/gps controlled snow blowers/lawn mowers.

Wife and I were discussing remote control snow blowers during the last recent snow storm. She was commenting how slow our present track drive blower moved and how come there isn't a remote controlled version that could be controlled from the living room.

I did a quick search and found these things. I thought they were toys until I started watching the testimonial vids.

Found the price was around $7k for the complete kit which includes a snow blower, lawn mower and a leaf blower.

The wife said we are getting one in the near future.

This goes against my love affair with gas powered yard tools, but the self control aspect of the thing has really got my attention.

I like wireless charging platform. The battery gets low and it returns to the base to charge, then after charging it goes out to finish up the job.

Check out some of the vids. People are using them to tow wagons around the yard or actually pulling a car. These are definitely not toys
