Hi all, I'm Otter, and back in December, I finally got the opportunity to get my own '17 Tacoma. As someone who's owned a couple Rangers and then a '10 Colorado for a long time, this truck is dream spec. It literally has all the technology I wanted that my Colorado lacked; full tech package, dual climate/heated seats, driving/parking assist, etc.. while NOT having the crap I hate about my wife's car ('18 RAV4, with auto high/low beams, adaptive cruise control, beeping at temps below 37 degrees, stupid useless tech). As well, finding a clean, 1 owner example with a paint matched camper shell on the back at an aggressive price point compared to every other Tacoma I've looked at, I wasted no time to acquire. The only thing I wasn't initially excited about was getting a TRD Sport over an OR or Pro... but at the end of the day, I've made it to every camp site in the natl forest without locking diffs, so I'll be fine without them still. Getting AT tires is on the to-do list, but the existing all seasons are <2 years old. Also, I'm stupid and got another black truck, so it will never look clean after 10 minutes leaving the car wash, lol. I was really hoping for a louder color like solar octane or voodoo blue, but beggars can't be choosers. Like I said, the price point was unbeatable after I've been shopping for a third gen for a couple years now, and finding a (slightly) higher mileage 1 owner clean truck that checked every other box in specs.. absolutely worth it. The previous owner was someone who did regular maintenance at the Toyota dealer they originally bought from (which, I called their service dept, and they complimented on its excellent service history), and as I've learned, camper shells are expensive. The PO spent some money on that shell + bed lighting and a pop n lock tailgate, which was reassuring that this truck has lived an easy & well maintained life by someone with money to spend on it. I've already got my sub+amp installed, next step is radio & speakers, and eventually some tasteful aesthetic changes. It is, after all, my daily and only vehicle, and will spend 90% on pavement. Might as well look good but not obnoxious.

    Welcome!

Great first post with summary of meeting your Sport...which I love because I also own a Midnight Black Sport.

Looking forward to your mild aesthetic changes.

Love black, right after a wash and wax. So shiny.

    And that's it.................;)
