2007 4WD DCSB TRD Sport SR5 here. It’s tax time and I’m gonna upgrade my suspension. Hoping to spend around $2000 +\-

I think I’ve narrowed it down to Eibach Stage 2R or Bilstein 6112/5160 from a reputable dealer who have them around the same price.

    Planning on SPC UCA’s.

Hoping for 2.5-3” of lift. My question is will an AAL be good enough in the rear or will I need a full leaf pack? I haul things from time to time but no co start extra weight (I.e. bumpers, overland, etc…) although this may be an option later on. This is my daily driver much will be used for occasional off road use (I.e. weekend warrior).

So I’m looking for best quality, best price, and best functionality on and off road. If that isn’t too much to ask for.

I’m a big fan of my Icon RXTs. You can configure them to your liking.

I search some more on here and think again on the SPCS

I’ve read varying things on the SPC both good and bad. Initially wanted to go with JBA but got mixed reviews on them as well. What do you recommend?

Go with the 6112/5160. Yes, I may be biased, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s a tried and true combo. Same with the JBAs. Also running the Icon RXTs. Definitely worth the extra coin over an AAL. Especially if you got some miles on your OEM leafs.

Yeah, I’m really saying just to do your research so you aren’t surprised if you do have ball joints go out prematurely. Both companies have great customer service in my experience but I switched from SPC to JBA because of the usual ball joint failure

I’d rather go with JBA honestly

    1. Eibach 2.0 and 6112 is not a comparison. The former appears 2". The latter is 2.3".

    2. AAL, progressive AAL, or leafpack, has variables.
    intended use of the truck:
    -wheeling (more articulation and height)
-weighted down, handling weight like towing, cargo, etc.
-ride height. pack is adjustable and can go high
-replacing a tired old stock pack

I did the 6112 and 5160 with RXTs. Installed as high as possible. I did not change my UCAs and was still able to get the truck properly aligned.

I needed the ECGS bearing in the front diff. to quell the resultant vibration.

    Installed in 2018.

After a couple of years one of the front springs broke and the only way I was able to get a replacement spring was to buy another set of 6112s.

So you can't just replace springs on the 6112?

There is a difference between having a part number and being able to buy a replacement spring.

I tried ordering the replacement spring, I was told the wait was indefinite. I wanted to use my truck, so I bought a new set of 6112s and had them installed.

True, but these are available on at least a few sites. I actually found the part number on Headstrong's site and they are also available on eBay at least.

JBA UCA's purchased, pulling the trigger on 6112/5160 setup, and am now just trying to decide if I should do AAL, HS Progressive AAL, or ICON RXT. I don't really think I need a full leaf pack but I also don't want to have to purchase one later on. My current leafs look pretty good, no rust or anything and I never haul anything to overly heavy nor for long periods of time.

Nice! Congrats on pulling the trigger. This is the same position I was in. Progressive AAL vs RXT. Didn’t want to do it again later and I liked the idea of the ability to adjust the leafs as my needs may grow. At that point, the price difference between AAL and RXT was worth it to get something I’d be happy with in the long run, or at least be able to adjust to pursue what I was after. I can say 5160/RXT stage 1 is a nice ride empty compared to stock.

I got an AAL less than a year ago and already regret not going full leaf. It just doesn’t hold weight as well as I’d like it to the few times a year I load it up. Ride is great though if you don’t load it up. And if you want more lift than 1.5” then obviously go bigger.

Full leaf pack is definitely the way to go. Much better ride comfort and off road performance

We offer Bilstein, Eibach, ICON, and more. If you interested in a quote for these items from us please feel free to message me or @paul@gotexhaust . As a supporting vendor we would love to have an opportunity to earn your business.
