I bought a plug and play head unit from Trail Grid Pro about two years ago. I contacted them through emails before I made the purchase to make sure that the head unit would be compatible with my factory back up camera. They said it would. However, when I installed it the back up camera didnt work. I contacted them about the problem and they were very helpful. They even facetimed me re-installing the head unit to make sure I did everything correctly. We came to the conclusion that something wasnt right with either the head unit or the harness. They offered me a full refund with no hassles at all.

Not one in person in this thread is in agreeance with you and you are gonna double down.
Not taking criticism or being able to admit a mistake also speaks volumes to ones character.

I was really trying to avoid saying that part out loud, but I'm glad someone said that part out loud.

Couple things. First, the comment about the camera manufacturer and installer not being colocated misses the whole point. All you had to do was hire the installer to both procure and install a camera. Then it’s the installer’s problem. When you buy the product yourself and then bring it to the shop, you open yourself up to the possibility of this issue.

Second, it’s completely legitimate for the manufacturer not to reimburse the install labor. They have no idea what happened to the camera once it was delivered to you. It’s entirely plausible that the harness was damaged by the shop or that they made an installation mistake, even if they’re a top notch shop. Heck, it’s plausible that YOU damaged it, how would the manufacturer know? Paying that install bill would have been over the top and should not be an expectation.

I’m the first person to get upset with a company that doesn’t live up to customer service expectations. This isn’t that.

I bought an AX6000 Sony head unit from them in December. Followed instructions and installed, works great. Mine was simple with no extra cameras. Nothing defective and customer support was helpful in answering my pre-order questions.

Purchased a Sony head unit from Trail Grid Pro to replace the factory unit in my 2018 Tacoma. It was a 20 minute start to finish project, followed the excellent video installation instructions, no problems at all. And I had nothing but quick, courteous communications from Trail Grid customer service helping me select an appropriate head unit for my vehicle, answering my install questions etc. Seems most folks here have not had any problems with Trail Grid, maybe you're the problem not them?

Nothing but good things to say about Trail Grid Pro. Their DIY videos are spot on. I never installed a amp or headunit and their videos made it painless to install.

I can confirm that Trail Grid Pro does not provide good customer service and clearly does not QC there units before shipping. They sent me 2 faulty units with bricked Maestro RR units and then refused to respond via their support portal. While it sounds like many have had good experiences that does not discount the bad ones. If you are offering a plug and play unit you should at least test it before shipping it out to a consumer. Especially after already RMA'ing the first one. Extremely disappointed with my experience.
