Isn't the front sensor an Air Fuel sensor, not an O2?

They are both the same, the pre O2 adjust fuel mixture based on how much O2 there is after combustion where the post measures O2 after the cat cleans up the mess.

the post 02 sensor doesnt do anything more than tell the computer if theres an in-active cat converter...
Dont think the pcm uses post cat monitor sensor information to further adjust fuel ratios...
it strictly tells the pcm if the cat is doing its job & cleaning up the remaining fuel, emissions, etc....
could be wrong though, im not mr toyota, im mr ford...

end of the day, regardless what you want to refer to it as, they all do the same thing...
front sensor monitors exhaust ratios & sends info to pcm to make fuel ratio adjustments,
rear sensor, tells pcm if cat is doing its job, if not, light comes on...

As someone already mentioned try a 18mm spark plug anti fouler. It's a threaded extension to move the spark plug out of the combustion chamber. I've never heard of anybody actually using it for that but I see them used all the time for the cat sensor when they remove or change to aftermarket high flow cats. It just moves the sensor further away from the exhaust flow so it can't detect as well.20250219_115833.jpg

I use it as a transmission fill hose adapter as the fill plug is the same size.

You may have to address this with Manufacturer and/or Google to rename them

What year is your vehicle and how many miles do you have. I'm not sure the exact mileage but there is an emission warranty for this vehicle which is much longer than the 3 36. If I'm not mistaken I think it is 8 year 80k miles.

Don't bother with multimeter. Instead use a scanner. Engine computer creates rich conditions every 30 sec and calculates oxygen capacity by monitoring the violatage of heated O2 sensor.
To troubleshoot that, 1st check for for exhaust leaks between 2 cats.
2nd, need to eliminate both sensors by testing voltage when setting a rich condition (need a scanner with bi-directional functionality)
    3rd replace sensors.
If I recall correctly, early tunes had a way to disable MIL for folks who were deleting cat

02 sensor 1 stuck at 0 at all time even when snapping the throttle?
most likely a dead 02 maybe, get the parts cannon out & try throwing an 02 sensor at it...

    Little pro-tip
If it doesnt break loose easily, try tightening it...
You will feel it break free & move when turning it in the tightening position, then it will come right out afterwards...
Been a life saver 1000's of times...

O2 sensors can get inconsistant and slow-responding with age. It's worth changing them maintenance wise after many years and distance anyway. Plus, Denso sensors are reasonably priced.

Thanks for the help guys, I just took it to the mechanic.

one of the cats is deteriorating. Decided to remove the cats. There are no emission laws here in lebanon.
