Hmm seems legit and that roots blower sure does look nice id be interested in the videos, the ease of installation alone may be worth the shot. I did not feel much from the manifold spacer not sure if id recommend it. A manual trans where you can put more direct load on the engine i could see better results. I think at least sticking with n/a an electric fan swap would be more beneficial. I yanked off the fan clutch last winter when it was real cold and drove it around a bit for science. There was a noticeable seat of the pants feel, more responsive. Its like when you have the a/c on and shut it that boost when the compressor shuts you can feel less drag.

I think now that ive had the URD kit and am transitioning to a turbo kit. The Roots style is much more appropriate for a mild 2TR upgrade. With good gearing i was always happy with a well tuned NA 2TR with LC exhaust. Plenty of times ive climbed dunes that people thought i couldnt with a 4cyl. The video is with 35s 5.29 and the LC header and Cat removed. 5th gear low range appx 55mph. The main problem was the bottom end grunt if you didnt wind it up already. The roots woudl excel at that way more that the Rotrex or comparable styles.

The only gear that can be changed on these trans is 5th.

What would be the benifit to having the fuel rail mounted remotely?

Again my 05 Regular cab 5 lug is going to LCE this month so they can do a video of the installation for their Magnuson supercharger system. I need to install the Snow Water Meth system and start putting it back together.

I’m picking up the 05 today from the paint shop. They were supposed to paint the mirrors white!
Oh well I have another set of mirrors they can paint…

Well have some more experience to share with 2TR turbo sizing with my adventure, Ordered a comp CT3RX-5862 .82AR dual V-band mount today. I was going to go smaller but they assured me this would spool way quicker with my setup than expected especially with the CTRX wheel upgrade and ball bearings option. worse case we can assist the spool with the meth injection on the CNC manifold with the appropriate provisions for individual runner injection. The rep was leaning into a 6262 until i specified my exact usage which requires both top&bottom end with quick spool, he assured me i could make 500hp with almost instant bottom end boost with the 5858 but the efficiency would suffer along with reliability due to heat retention even with a larger .82 AR, so 5862 it is. SAFE IS FUN. Id rather rip than be watching EGT the whole time. Let the Haltech be the appropriate safety net is my thoughts Screenshot 2025-02-06 at 4.24.20 PM.png

While we are at it im finding all kinds of conflicting information on throttle body sizing.. Im leaning toward a OEM Toyota 70mm from a camry or a 75mm from a 5.3LS. Any input on appropriate sizing? i know some 2jz and RB stuff isnt even that big. Thus the confusion. I want to make sure to ship the second throttle body adapter with my intake to avoid more ridiculous shipping from malaysia later.

70mm from 10-24 4runner or 76mm from the 5.7L tundra would be plug and play with your TB harness. Just need the proper adapter for your manifold

I know i have been following your build on and off, excited to see what type of kit comes together and price. Part of me wants the blower, part of me is saying leave the truck reliable and N/A.

    75mm flapbore
    76mm mounting bore
    Bolt pattern - 82mm x 67mm
Plug and play with appropriate manifold

Just sent the specs to CNC innovations to send it out with the order. $61 additional per extra plate.

this way we can get some real world “what the hell difference will it make” verification. 60mm to 76mm should yield a noticeable change in response and feel to see if its worth a damn on/off the dyno.

Next will be getting the heads flow tested, stock/ ported LC ENGINEERED head with oversized valves. To see what the cfm is for full reference. LC didnt know as it was just a one off port by a talented worker. They said there are probly only 5 heads for a 2tr they have done that far. So its a mystery head. Only thing ive actually measured is the exhaust port for the flange spec which was only .75mm larger than stock. 33.7mm vs 34.57mm

I thought LC had already done one of these but they want a full write up for a customer
Vehicle showcase on the 2TR buildout. Itll be a cool thing to have something documented on it.

Lots of prep to get ready for 1300cc injectors or staged injection pending how it feels at low rpms off road. This round will only be with 380cc Five0motorsports injectors(may be stage 1 in the CNCinnovations runners later) on the Rotrex to see how an unaltered OEM map likes the increased flow. I have found that without tuning my base WOT map is fixed at 4.7% positive trim which cant be perfectly countered with a 5th injector. This should fix that. Hopefully it will allow people who dont want to mess with Orange Virus tuning to be able to plug an play a close map. If 380cc isnt the magic ticket i assume 315cc might and both are offered by Five0

This will be valuable to anyone looking to use the larger fuel rail while still on a stock intake manifold setup, I wont be later but for now this will be good info for those that want to stay stock but want fancy bling like we all do. The stock location of the 60mm throttle body does indeed interfere with the very nice fuel rail(05Taco4x4) unless... you have a manifold spacer. I do not, so im going to clock the throttle body 180 degrees which may not be advisable as a permanent fix due to the way it will affect tip in flow and the way the stock manifold creates the intake vortex. but this is indeed temporary for my setup at least. Itll require pulling the sheathing off the factory harness and pulling the throttle body wires out of the harness to the back side of the throttle housing and re-securing the wires in the harness(no cutting) effectively lengthening the wires enough to plug in at the new location.

The stock PCV and throttle body coolant hard lines also do not fit as the connections of the fuel rail will intersect grossly. Not a big deal though if you know its coming. Ive mocked up some stainless lines to reroute the PCV hardline to the stock manifold avoiding the fuel pressure regulator as the stock plastic manifold uses a non sealable port that requires the PCV line to plug it. The coolant lines for the throttle body can be easily rerouted using high quality 5/16" coolant overflow hose from a local hardware store.

Moments like this is why i remember having a hard time throwing away the original head from the grenaded engine. Epic to have a exact mockup for fitment without leaning over into the engine bay

Looking fantastic! Makes me want to get my fuel rail installed too, but i also still have the stock manifold. Curious to hear how rotating the throttle body works for you. Please keep us updated
