    Hello Folks,
Most of the conversations I've found on Deaver leaf springs are regarding model U402. I also see that they offer a H70HD model.

Can anyone elaborate on when you would choose one over the other?

I'm running a 2017 DBL CAB long bed with a permanent snugtop camper shell with less than 5% offroad use.

    Thank you.

Look at Alcan springs are every bit as good and better customer service in my opinion.

H70HD is a spring under leaf so you'd need a spring under conversion kit and longer shocks. These are performance springs with no overload and not meant to carry much weight or tow, they're meant to go fast in the whoops.

U402 springs are more like what the truck is designed for (spring over) and allow you to carry substantial weight.

You need to decide what you want the truck to do before you go buying a really expensive leaf pack.

Well, I can tell you I won't been driving fast in the 'whoops'. I carry a camper shell fulltime (~175-200lbs) and about 200lbs of scuba gear on the weekends. Several times a year i traverse some off-road trails to get to remote dive sites, but this isn't a regular thing.

Sounds like U402 is designed for my needs.

My current shocks (bilstein 5100's) are leaking and the rear end (with 2" block lift) is really mushy and bottoms out easily. In the past, I have carried heavy loads while pulling a side x side and trailer for long distances and I think I've worn out my poor existing springs and shocks. I no longer tow a trailer and don't carry heavy loads on extensive trips. Time to upgrade.
