In the process of trying to jack up the front end of my 09 access cab, I bent/dented the cross member that protects the trans. In the future, I know to use a jack point, but right now I am wondering if this is any cause for concern or if I'm worried about nothing. I've taken it for a drive and there doesn't seem to be any alignment issues.

Since it is not connected to the suspension, I wouldn't think it would affect the alignment much, if at all. I should check mine, I’ve lifted from there several times. Did you use a bottle jack or hydraulic jack with 4” pad?

You're fine. In the future just use the correct jack points.

Bottle jack. It looks like people who use this cross member as a jack point suggest using a plank of wood to distribute the weight, but I don't plan on running that risk.

    Original with factory replacement parts.
It looks like a very minimal dent at a web type location between 2 big holes. I think the dent could be deeper and still not change the geometry.
Had you dented/kinked the verticle sides of that member, that could be an issue.
    In short it's fine.
And as mentioned before, lift from approved points.

Even on jack points I always use a 2x4 on top of the bottle jack, the few times I’ve used it. That is a lot of weight to put on a 1.5” point. I recently got a poly-something hockey-puck looking pad for bottle jacks. Haven't used it yet but may still use a 2x4 with it.

I use hockey pucks, they work great, even have cut a groove into a couple they are great for lifting cars on a jack!

I have a couple for the floor jack. On the bottle jacks, they have specially made ones with a cut-out so they don't slip off. And they are pretty affordable.

dont think he was referring to suspension alignment, he was referring to engine, trans, driveline, motor mount alignment...
    To the OP, its fine....
Think you just dented the lower portion & didnt actually bend the whole thing...
But if you think the whole thing is bent, try to find a used replacement.....
