Hey guys, wanting to add some on board air to my truck and I’ve seen where the lead tech with Toyota stated that the trailhunter integrated compressor could be added after the fact to other trims.

Has anyone done it? If so, what all is needed to integrate it, and is it plug and play or not?

I put my old single ARB compressor under the hood.

Seems it requires a signal from the Brake Actuator circuit to function. Easy to duplicate, since it's a negative signal.

The compressor and the hose/fitting, and it requires you do to an extensive cut-in to the side of the bed liner, effectively equal to the storage bin on the passenger side. Those two parts on their own are combined list price north of $1500. You can check if the fuse is already in place under the hood and look up in the fender from below to see if you might already have the port/plug.

For the list price I’d buy an ARB and be close to a grand ahead. Just because it’s “ factory or OEM “ doesn’t mean it’s better.

If you wait until Toyota has a sale and buy your own hose, I think it can be had for $7-800

    Part number is PTR949-35240

I bet TRD and up trims are already wired for it
