    Hey yall,

My 07's ignition lock cylinder is completely locked up. It happened very unexpectedly when I was leaving work two nights ago. It had not given me any problems or signs it was failing up to this point.

To make matters worse, I tried moving the steering wheel back and forth after spraying some graphite into the cylinder and wiggling the key in an attempt to try and get the tumblers moving and ended up locking my steering wheel (so stupid).

So now I have a locked steering wheel that can't be unlocked because my lock cylinder is seized. To my knowledge the only way to remove a lock cylinder is by turning the key into accessory position to access a release pin. And now my steering wheel is locked in a position that covers one of the screws on the steering column cover so I can't remove that to access the tumbler/cylinder...

I tried searching the internet and forum for advice but it all seems to pertain to the earlier generation tacomas...

Any advice on how to tackle this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Try another key if you have one. Same thing happened to me thought it was the cylinder but turns out my key was worn out. It was my last remaining key. If you remove the passenger door cylinder it has a code on it that any locksmith can use to make you a new key.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Grab the steering wheel at 10:00 and pull that bich down as hard as you can and turn the key.
