I have a 99tacoma with the 2rz and am having ignition codes and starting problems. From what ive found and after replacing everything I believe the problem is coming from the ignition switch. I have shaved door handles and need a remote and am adding a kill switch. I’m looking to eliminate the switch completely and have switched and a momentary button.
I can’t find out what wires I need to connect under the dash. I have 2 plugs that come in and don’t know what wires are what other then the starter and power wires. I’m looking for help identifying the wires.
The eight pin harness on the ignition switch, giving 12 V to terminal one goes to the starter relay terminal two has 12 V terminal three turns on parking indicator lights on dash 4 turns on seatbelt light and HVAC five is empty. Six turns on airbag light and a loud click not sure what it is. Seven is 12 V power and eight is empty.
I would think running a switch to all of these and then a momentary to the starter would turn on the car, but I have another small four pin harness. I’m not sure what to do. Grounding my green with red striped wire plays the chime noise he left in.
My reasoning for all of this is I am having P 1300 and P 1310 codes. I have replaced spark plugs, spark, plug wires, coil packs, new coil pack, harnesses Wires are correct. Have a spare ECU and have looked at any electrical connections. I can I read somewhere The ignition switch can cause problems with resulting in The car to Start And stall. It’s got me pretty stumped checked all fuses and this is what’s I’ve come too.

P1300 is almost always a problem right at the coil.......usually its the wiring
sometimes its the ground right there.....as in a previous thread.....not sure how that happens

as far as ignition switch.....they have those used on ebay for $20~30....$80 new autozone one
its not bad to have a spare.....and should be replaced every !50K ........or 100K for generic one

that little 4pin is for door chime and key release lock solenoid

A little update, I tested my noise filter and got 416 nf to me indicating it is overcharging its self ordered a new one from Toyota and tested it at the rated 0.461 instead of 416.0 I got from mine. Thought it was a good find and still no start. Again I have new harnesses new coil packs a new ecu jumped out ignition switch new plugs and wires fresh ground. tested efi relay and any other I can fine and all look fine.didnt find any other cracks or cuts in any wires. I’m hoping the coils I got are bad from factory but what are the chances. I’m getting lost any thing would help
