Does anyone know why I have this square part of the headlight output? I already adjusted the headlights. These are the “Alpha Rex pro style” headlights for sr/sr5 3rd gen Tacomas.

The OEM lights have something similar to that designed to help illuminate overhead street signs, but they're symmetrical and the same left and right. I have no idea what the hell we're looking at here other than a mess of weird reflections and light in many places that headlight should not be making. If it's not too late, I would return those and either put your OEM halogens back in or upgrade (with the proper wiring harness) to the 2020 OEM LED assemblies which are some of the best in the business and not dreck like what we're seeing here. Really, they should not be allowed to sell these and these will make your truck less safe than it was before. There are lots of worthy headlight threads floating around here on TW where, if you have the patience, you can get a pretty good education regarding what makes a good headlight and what does not.

That looks like somethings wrong with your unit specifically, or a design flaw with the alpharex lights. I, and quite a few headlight junkies recommend staying far away from alpharex because they have terrible beam pattern. They have all these fancy start up sequences and features that grabs your attention but the most important thing, usable light output AND pattern, are a complete afterthought with this company. They're not even cheap either (price wise). I'd recommend the oem leds but if you HAVE to go aftermarket, Morimoto is a tier above the alphas, always.

I agree, my Alpharex Lux series has a very sharp beam pattern when up against a wall. There really shouldn't be random reflections of lights either:

I suggest you reach out or return them for another set to see if it's just an issue with the housing.

Where can I find a harness adapter for an sr5 to convert to the oem led headlights?
