Taught the gf to snowmobile yesterday, did super well for her first time on anything that isn't a car.

First time we've been able to pack down proper trails on my parents property in a decade or so, it's crazy!

Miss my snowmobile days....almost bought one when I retired. If I buy one at the end of this season we will get zero snow next year.

We don't own a single sled newer than 01- all of them older models my parents bought new. They're so simple to maintain and keep running, can fix em with a flathead and a hammer. Not worth buying anything newer unless that's all you're gonna do.

Slight pivot, Desjardins wants me to install a Tag tracking system on my theft-prone Tacoma or face a $500/year surcharge (I've insured three vehicles and a house with Desjardins for the last 13 years). They're promoting Speedy Glass. The Speedy Glass website doesn't mention anything about cost ("Call Us") but a Google search puts the cost at $250-$400. I've just right now started researching this as to which insurance companies in Ontario mandate this $500 (or any other amount) surcharge.

I think it’s a new thing for push button start vehicles. Couple co-workers were talking about it a while ago.

Hey, I had this exact thing happen. I bitched about it to them and threatened to switch companies and they said they'd delay it for a year. I'll do the same thing next year. Also with dejardins

Pretty much any modern toyota with push start button is a high risk vehicle - I wonder if mentioning it's parked in the garage overnight will get them off your back?

I'll have a chat with them soon.

The truck is usually parked behind a gate at the back of the property, in the garage. I did have three not-at-fault claims in the last three years -- distracted fucking drivers -- and they were good about it, but we'll see.

Maybe Tag tracking is a good investment, it's just the extortion-like nature of this is unpleasant.

I don't trust any tracker being hacked into my trucks wiring nor do I trust my insurance company with that data. My mum and dad have been with dejardins for 45 years, I've been with them for 5 years- I insure 6 vehicles with them and I'm sure there will be another company happy to jump at the opportunity for that kind of business.

Its worth fighting over, imo. I live 2 hours from the GTA and my truck is in a private driveway or private garage. No reason for it to have a tracker.

Had a fun conversation with the parts lady at Toyota today.

Her 'You have to buy your ignition coils after market, Toyota no longer makes them'

Me 'Ok, can you just verify that with your boss and call me back. That seems not right as my truck is only a '15.'

    She never called back :bananadead:

    How is that possible o_O

Went to car quest and got one np

is starting to happen. Merica will cut off all parts so we have to pay the terifs to get parts. Business may not want to sell certain parts anymore because of terifs. :) forcing us to become Mericana-daa
