When I bought the truck used, it came on 17's with 35's that were in bad shape, and probably not road worthy. Wheels were Pro Comp Alloy 01 I think, or something similar, and the tires came off pretty quickly, so I didn't pay attention to them.

    upload_2025-2-26_4-12-6.jpg

I got a used set of used 33" Dick Cepek Extreme Country 285/75R16's to put on the truck while I got a new set of 35" tires mounted and balanced. Added some Plastidip as the Pro Comp Rock Crawler Series 51 steel wheels were just black.

    upload_2025-2-26_4-13-56.jpg

Plastidipped the Pro Comp Alloy 01 wheels. New 35" tires Roadone Calvary 315/75/16.

    upload_2025-2-26_4-20-37.jpg

For whatever reason, I dropped down to 31" winter compound tires - 31" Mastercraft Courser MSR 235/85R16 tires. Not sure on the wheels.

Finally some NEW wheels!!!! 17" TE styled wheels in bronze. Just swapped over the RoadOne's.

Started to get tire size envy, so I jumped up to 37's. Maxxis Trepador 37X12.50-16LT's, on the TE style wheels.

This was my wood wheel and tire combo:

    upload_2025-2-26_4-34-29.jpg

Moved on from the 31" winter tires, and 16" wheel setup. To Vision Off-Road 351 Flow Series Satin Grey Wheels, and Kanati 37x12.50R17 Trail Hogs. 3-Peak rated tires.

    Also upgraded the lug nuts.

Can't remember the info for this spare setup.

    RockTrix RT112 Spare 37"

    upload_2025-2-26_4-39-52.jpg

Why did I step up to 38's?!? No good reason..... Mickey Thompson Baja pro XS's 38x13.50R17's on CXA, TR Vortex 17x9's

For another no "good" reason I moved up to 40's. Stayed with the Pro XS model, but 40X13.50-17LT on TIS 563BZ's.

That is some meaty rubber. How does the truck handle those massive tires? (Power and brake wise)

I'm assuming you've geared down significantly in the diffs, right?

Power is obviously lacking, but I'd say that about a stock truck. But to be fair, I didn't get the truck for speed. Braking, has improved, I think you can see on a couple pics the Stoptech BBK on the front. And last year I upgraded the rear. And I was on 5.29's.

That’s very funny because I’m currently sitting at the off road shop that does alot of the work on my truck and I’ve become friends with them as well because I spend so much time here haha, 100% can relate.

The amount of money spent on just tires and wheels is probably close to the entire value of my truck haha. I hope you were able to sell everything when you moved on to something else to get some funds back. And also just realized were were chatting in your sas post a few weeks ago on reddit haha. Nice rig.

Yup, I always sell my old setups to help offset the costs of the current one. And I'm normally able to get wheels and tires, at a discounted rate, so I'm not paying the normal price, so flipping them later on I don't take as big a hit.

I only assumed that's what was going on. If not then my other assumption was you were a millionaire with FU tire money lol.

HA!, definitely not the case! Would have probably gone 42" Treps if money was no object. They are a little quieter. But don't get me wrong, I love the Baja Pro XS's.

When you're in the 1inch tread depth and you can fit your fist between the lugs then the decibel meter exits the chat haha

edit: typed before i read the post above. Same thing haha

Honestly my 37" Treps were pretty tame, noise wise for how aggressive they are. But the truck is built for the trails, so I'm not overly concerned with noise.
