2018 Tacoma SR5 75k. My truck shakes when accelerating between 20-30mph at 1-1.5rpm. After 30mph it goes away. Braking to 0 is fine. No other issues. Regularly maintained at dealer every 5k miles. No lifts or aftermarket suspension. I have never taken it off road or do any towing or hauling. Took it to the dealer and they say it needs a new torque converter for $3400.

How could my torque converter be bad at only 75k when it’s been on pavement 99% of the time? It’s been babied the whole time. Anybody have the same issues and it wound up being something else?

Possible low transfluid. Have you had it changed or serviced .

I have. I’ve been pretty consistent with all services. I do believe I had the transmission flushed every 30k

Is it a new issue? My 2021 has done the same thing since new but acts up around 40-45 mph and 1500 rpm. I have tuned, checked and refilled transmission fluid, balance tires and it is still a problem.
