I can chime in to say I purchased a 2pk of oem-style remotes off Amazon for liek $15 and programmed them myself in the driveway using the procedure already mentioned above. No issues with either of the remotes.

I recently upgraded to a switchblade style key that combines the remote/key to limit my pocket clutter. Switchblade key was $11 on Amazon, another $7 to have the key blank cut. I took the circuit board out of one of the own style remotes to drop into the switchblade key assembly, good to go

I also learned that at least for my ‘06 base model, there isn’t actually a chip in the key so I got a couple oem style regular keys cut for $7 each so I have spare remotes and spare keys now in addition to the switchblade key.

    Crazy update yall!

so I bought the two pack of replacement ones of Amazon. They arrived today. I went through the process with the new one and it wasn’t working.. started freaking out thinking maybe there was a bigger issue here.

So after about 4-5 times of trying to program the new one, I said Fuck it and tried to re program my original one and guess what.. it worked!!

I couldn’t believe it. I don’t know what has caused it to just start working again. Now I’m gonna spend some more time figuring out why the new ones aren’t working.

A MASSIVE thanks! To everyone who took the time out to reply and help me out. I GREATLY appreciate it and my wallet does as well LOL!
