Side mirror cap removal

I came out of a store this morning and found out that my passenger side mirror cap was in pieces on the floor and a scratch on the door. Mirror glass is ok, but cap is busted.
Called the dealership and they don't sale caps anymore and they don't sale the mirror painted either.
So I ordered the whole mirror and the paint shop will charge me to paint both caps for $250 as long as I take the caps only.
is there a tutorial to remove those?

 

I don't think they're supposed to be removed.
I think you can't get them color matched from the dealer though.

$250 is pretty steep to paint two mirror covers. I just bought two entire (left & right) mirror assemblies from a junkyard found on car-part.com for less than that. Doing a quick search there are several matches in your region for under $100.

 

Thank you . I already checked and nothing matching my color. BTW, this is Los Angeles, prices are expensive and at $125 pero mirror doesn’t seems expensive at all since they have to sand, prep, prime and paint.

 

Fair enough. Might not be any in L.A. but if you find one online and call the yard they can often ship. Here are some I found, good luck either way.
