Sounds like they put the springs on the wrong side. Not to hard to fix yourself, just remove the shocks and spring combo, and swap them. OR, take to the dealer and tell them they put them on the wrong sides.

How do I explain that though-like should you be able to tell by looking at the springs? color coded or something?

The springs ARE in fact color coded, but I cant remember which is which. The 1/2" lean should be enough. The Tacomas do have a "natural" lean to them, as many heavy things are on the driver side, like the battery, feul tank, driver, etc. It may be something to do your self, that way if it is in fact installed corectly, you can swap them back.

Thanks. Can anyone on the board PLEASE look at their factory springs on an '08 for color coding--before I initiate removal.

Anyone know the color code? (on mine, there is a blue and a grey mark on the front passenger side spring)-the dealer service rep is saying that the shocks were [definitely] replaced 1 at a time. The tech that did the replacement today definitely replaced 1 at a time as I got to go to the back and see for a minute. If the original tech installed them wrong and I can find out the color code, I can refute the claim.

This is off my '08 and it ought to say rh and lh as well as color. In this case yellow and white.

I put my 5100's on myself...one at a time so there was no confusion on which went where...I have the same problem...the passenger side sits about a half inch higher in the front and the back.

Anyway my front springs are not color coded and both look like this.

Thanks guys. I have an appointment on Monday afternoon for the dealer to get another look. Yesterday, I took measurements again and things seem worse-unless i measured incorrectly the first time. P side rear is almost 1" and Pside front is at least 3/4 higher. My rear springs are on the correct sides per the pics above.

The service manager told me he witnessed both installs and insists the fronts were worked on one at a time. He also said that Toyota considers 1/2 difference "acceptable." I wonder what they consider up to one inch? Since they installed the 5100s for me (1.75") in place of the TSB Bilsteins, I bet they will blame it on that.
