    Hi Team,
I am a returning old member, finally getting back to maintenance on my 18 Tacoma 4x4. Recently did my first T-case oil change and noted it did not have a magnetic drain plug. Not finding a reference replacement on Amazon. Can you assist?
Second question, when replacing front and rear differential oil, at 30k, rear was pretty clean but front was dirty. Any thoughts?
She is my daily driver, on road, pretty much local grocery getter.

    Thanks Team
Sorry if I am in the wrong category or is this is old news. This appears to be Encyclopedia Tacoma!

The t case as I recall doesn’t have one . Just the differentials do . As far as oil being cleaner than the other. I’m at a lost why the front would be dirtier than the rear …might be from having less gear oil … who knows .

Don't overthink either, you are good to go. You are already on the right path, change them sooner rather than later.

Changed my front diff oil about a month ago, and it was absolutely filthy compared to the rear. The magnet had a great deal more stuck to it as well.

It's rarely actually used if you think about it, the only real gears are in 4 lo, the rest is just bearings and a union collar. Dont need to over think it.

There's a brass synchro in the T-case, whose wear products aren't magnetic. Not sure how useful a magnetic drain plug will be, but there are choices:

This uses the same 10mm allen key as the front diff: https://trail-gear.com/magnetic-drain-plug-w-aluminum-washer.html

This is the rear diff drain plug, which works on the transfer case as well: https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/toyota~plug~for~transfer~chain~case~90341-18057.html
