Steering wheel replacement

Just bought a stock base model 2008 Tacoma. Door locks and windows are manual. I had a gen 1 that I bought in 96 and had it for 20 years. Trying my luck with this one. I want to replace the steering wheel with another gen2 version which has radio and phone controls. I've found some on ebay but thought I'd get some advice from this collective body of knowledge. It appears there are a few different wheel configurations that where used throughout the production run. What advice and how much work is it to install one?
Any advice would be appreciated.
