I unfortunately have some bent plastic body pieces from a hit and run and ice falling off of my apartment roof. The grille surround has a very shallow dent from ice and the bumper cap is slightly bent up towards the tail light. The truck is so new that I want to fix them at this point. I have spoke to some PDR and auto body places and they have said they cant do much with plastic pieces. I have heard of the boiling water/heat gun method and I am wondering if that is applicable to bend these pieces back or if that only works for major dents. Thanks.

    Well 2 things.....

    1. Its a truck. Yeah blah blah blah it was 50k pavement princess.....was bound to get some damage somewhere
    2. The grill is common on some. A few people have posted that is how they got the truck.

But if it bothers you that much you can buy replacement parts and get them painted. Honestly I cant even tell what the issue is on the bumper cap.

The only worry I would have with using a heat gun would be the possible paint damage.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
Heat gun on plastic bumper works surprisingly well. I crushed the front corner of mine into a stump and inverted it. Next day I carefully warmed it while pushing the backside with a rounded wooden handle and it went right back to normal (almost unless you look really closely). No issues with the paint. It was probably 8 years ago.

Check if the grille plastic is body moulding/bumper ABS vs the brittle trim stuff. If ABS, you are safe to heat fix cause it behaves like Kydex.

I had parked my old truck and barely tapped the miter saw handle. After 2 days, it left a nasty dent. Took my McCullock steam cleaner and a long wrench. Maybe 15 mins of gentle shaping and wife couldn't even find it when I had her try.

Re: grille, I feel with you. I had my 2G OR with chrome plastic grille surround for 1 week, when a freeway rock came up and gave it a nasty scrap and ding. Lived with it for 13 years.
