You'll be playing with house money for years, well done there. You could drive it for another 15 years and sell it for 2x what you paid I bet.

    Great find, great friend.

Regarding the battery, I’d be shocked if you managed to get it to take and hold a charge. It’s rare but occasionally I’ll come across a battery north of 5 years. But this week I did find one from 2014, customer complained it always needs jump starting. I didn’t even bother testing, told the customer it needed replacing.

If it was just parked, or had a battery tender attached, or was disconnected, then maybe it’s ok but probably not.

If you end up swapping in a new one, do yourself a favor, use a battery brush on the terminals and new posts. Not a toothbrush, wire brush, or whatever. Battery brushes are made for batteries and terminals. Even the cheap crappy ones sold at auto parts store will work. Put some NOCO corrosion prevention felt pads under the terminals. They’re dirt cheap and actually work, cheap at Walmart, cheaper on Amazon. Not sure why it says $10 for the felt pads, it says $0.97.

Don't forget about changing the brake fluid! Power steering too.

I think in 15 years it will be a classic like how the 80’s Toyota pickups are now, and could probably fetch closer to $10k!

They only made the first year of 2nd Gen Tacomas one year. 2005.
Change the oil and take care of it. You may have it in 2045.

See if you can find some lightly used 3rd Gen front and rear coilovers / shocks - it’ll give you a little lift and a 2 or 3 leaf add a leaf will keep the rear from sagging with the weight.

Looks good. What size tires?, and did you have to get different tpms sensors when switching from the steel wheels to the aluminum ones?

Odd....my 06 does ..I guess 06 was the first year to get it? Honestly it's just one less thing to go wrong, and 3 min a month with a tire gauge will fix the issue.
