Hello. I have a 2017 that up and stopped starting at work yesterday. Put the booster on and it fired right up. Got home fine but this morning again no start. Battery tested and fine (replaced to be sure). Scanned for codes and came up P1604. If the starter clicks and will start (if battery boost on it), any suggestions where to go next?

    thanks

I agree with @Greg-tacoma sounds like a bad starter since you have already replaced battery.

It sounds like the solenoid that’s integrated into the starter is faulty.

Poke around with a voltmeter before you spend any more money, it could just be a bad connection somewhere. The trucks I take care of at work do the same thing occasionally, turn the key and everything comes alive as normal, but then when you go to crank it, it makes a single clunk and dies. Half the time it's that the ground is bad between the batt and the frame, or the frame and the block. If you were hooking your jump pack negative to the frame or block vs the battery neg, that could be circumventing the issue.
