Figured out the table on my drill press wasn’t level, so I shimmed it.

 

Had a great day at the farm yesterday, finally got to take the great granddaughter and she had a blast.

I should take a picture of my garage door fiasco.

My far-older neighbor tells me the previous homeowners only hired 'fresh off the boat' polish people to work on their house... They built the garage. The walls are 24" centers, and they ran out of overhead beams, so they installed 4, on random 48"/72" centers. The first joist off the garage door would be considered a 96" on center.

But then they installed the garage door opener, and it needed to travel through the space occupied by the first beam. So logically, they notched the 2x4 to clearance it for the garage door track. By removing 3". But they fixed it by wrapping the beam with two old license plates in that area with roofing nails, so it's even more solid than before.

My patch job for that, because I don't want to bother with long joists, or rebuilding the garage, looks even more spectacular. Like bridge trusswork.

But it's still holding, so who's wrong?

 

i'm up to page 85. 200 pages of instructions to go. my dog is not happy. this is majorly interrupting his primary attention and cuddling time.

I have a neighbor that is called Fast Eddy

He was the only person to introduce himself when I moved in. Pulled up in his Chevy restomod truck. Guy's in his 80's and still mows his lawn with a push mower.

 

Sounds like a cool guy to hang out with.

 

Morning shop

Starting my new job today, and they are updating their whole computer system today. Should be interesting. Time to put on the brand new pants and belt my wife made me buy.

 

He's definitely an eclectic character. Besides the little truck he has A Camry and Highlander so he can't be that bad of a guy. Every vehicle he has is white
