    Some 2016/2017 SR/SR5/Sport came with gen 2 3.73 diff.

Wow, I did not know this. I will reach out to Hollander to make sure they are aware as they do not list an interchange for a 3.73 in the 2016 or newer Tacomas. Do you have any documentation from Toyota I can send them by chance?

I don’t think the axle codes mean anything. Parts sites and the FSM and the Tacoma product info sheets all show only 4.30 and 3.91 for all 3rd gens.

    That's wild! Isn't A04A a 4.30?? The 2015 was a stick and yours is an auto.

Yea, historically Toyota axle codes are all over the place. Do not rely on them if you need to be 100% certain

I did. Rotation test suggest 3.73. 3.9 will be close to 4 rotations. Mine was at ~ 3.75 rotations

Crazy. Hopefully you never need insurance to replace a front or rear end...you will grenade a T-Case or diff as they will put a 3.909 in there based off the VIN.
