    Leafs from a 2nd or 3rd gen 4x4 will lower it an inch or so.

    I went with Strictly Street's Viking coil overs up front and 4x4 leafs with Viking shocks in the rear. Also spaced up the steering rack an inch and add Techno Toy Tuning tie rods and spacers to get the tie rod as parallel with the LCAs as possible. I also ended up replace the spacer ends for these with a taller set for a Ford Pinto from Summit Racing as they were still not parallel.

    Here's the links;
    https://www.strictly-street.com/toyota/x-runner
    https://technotoytuning.com/ultimate-tie-rod-package-for-the-x-runner/

    This was at my lowest but I raised it up an inch or so as I was bottoming out both front and rear too often with the roads here and my tonneau cover. Oh and this was with the DJM 3/3 kit and 4x4 leaf springs. Should be about the same and the 3/4 kit and 4x4 leafs without the weight of the tonneau.

    Turns out I lied about the belltech coils. They only make them for first gens.

    SOS Performance makes lowering perches for the front that'll get you another 2 inches. They also make shorter shackles which should get you another inch in the back

    You want the 4 leaf. The 3 leaf was the original design and they had problems with sagging and cracking. They are great for getting lower, I've got a set on mine and they definitely drop further than the 4 leaf, but they are not going to be great long term. I'm just running mine until I finally get time and money to do an IRS swap on the rear.

    be careful about your gas tank, i'm not notched but i have 5 inch blocks that are tapered, and they roll the axle far enough forward that my gas tank is barely 1/16th of a inch away when it's fully compressed, generally though i'm around a 1/8th of a inch off. just be aware of that and your brake lines. mine are bent.

    also, if your looking for nice front coilovers, GET THE FEALS, i looked at every other option, im actually lower in the front by a inch or two compared to the djm kit, i did have to sacrifice my bump stops and chop em pretty short though, since you have the ucas and lcas you shouldn't have any clearance issues with them, i have the 441+ ones, they ride nice with the swift springs 140 14k spring rates, but fully maxed out on dampening, and i feel like it could be stiffer, but i do like that more static snappy responsive suspension, and for rears there's A LOT of shock options, qa1 customs are a good idea.

    on my other minitruck before i did irs, i had a single leaf, that was damn near straight and a step notch, with a 4 link, because the shock hangers and u bolt brackets would sit too low, it's worse on the tacoma than my other truck. basically i had a 2 leaf that i took the secondary leaf off of, got it shorter than what it was supposed to be, heated it up bent it damn near straight and it was the right length, it was pretty stiff, i had a custom sway bar though, so idk how well the bodyroll would've been without it, anyway.

    i'm pretty sure i have seen lowering springs floating around, maybe try searching (2nd gen tacoma 5 lug lowering leaf pack or springs) that's how i got it to pop up from what i remember, i daily drive my taco so i've been considering lifting it back to stock height, just so i can have a comfy ride and get my other truck done.

    You aren't kidding on the rear brake lines. I hadn't noticed initially how close they were until I saw that the rear brackets were cutting into the soft lines. Replaced them with braided hoses and bent the brackets so they wouldn't hit any more. Also the e-brake cables and the grommet up under the cab can rub on the axle when you set low enough. Had to secure the cable up tighter to the body and flipped the grommet over so it had the flat side down.

    This was my old set up. 5 3/4" front and 4" rear. Looked sick, but was a pain to drive like that. Set up was djm 4/4 with XII performance 1.75" drop springs in the front as well. Im on a 3/3 drop now with the rpf1's and love it. Wheels are flush and rides much better

    yeah no kidding, i saw it the day i lowered it, especially because im not notched, i ride on super cut bump stops in the rear i got maybe 1/4 of a inch on my bump stops, within the first week i noticed that my bump stops exhaust and frame were slamming into the axle when i hit the tiniest bump in the road, my shit is stiff and i mean STIFF, its like my other mini truck before i step notched it, like riding in a car on washers, the exhaust doesn't help either because it sits lower to the axle than the stock one, if i could do it again, id get the one that dumps before the axle, or sits in the stock position above the axle, tacomas imo weren't made that well to be lowered, they look so damn good, but they aren't really well designed for it.

    Haha, I forgot about the exhaust hitting. I cut that off almost immediately. When I first dropped it, even with the notch and DJM arms, I was hitting the inner front fenders and bump stops in the rear. I raised it back up an inch or so after the first week just to save my back. I'm used to riding low but my other car is on air so I can raise it up when needed. can't ride that low all the time when I'm static.
